"KVCAP drivers felt disregarded and poorly used by a remote, top down management system. Perpetual issues dragged down morale, but went unaddressed. When we reached out to IAM, they showed up in force to help us organize a vote to unionize. After the yes vote, IAM guided us through 19 negotiation meetings to produce our first contract. When an employee gets in trouble, he or she now has help from the union and a process for addressing issues. Before, you were on your own with pretty dim prospects. As we prepare for our contract renewal negotiations, I know the end result will be 99% better with the union at the table with us.
